Enhancements to AdMob’s Ad Group Targeting Interface

We are excited to announce several big improvements to AdMob’s Ad Group targeting system, an interface that allows advertisers to select a variety of targeting settings for their mobile ads.

Streamlined User Experience – You’ve spoken and we’ve listened. We’ve organized ad group goals into four main sections, broken out common targeting options conveniently, and added a sidebar so that you can track your progress as you move through the ad group creation process.

OS and Platform Targeting – A common request that we get is to make it easier to target devices based on their operating system or platform.  As mobile phones become more sophisticated we expect more advertisers will want to target users in this way.  We’ve added support for Android, WebOS, Blackberry and Windows Mobile.  For example, if you have a smartphone optimized website, you can target these platforms to reach these users and ensure a great user experience.

Sub-country Region Targeting – Our targeting system now allows you to reach users in specific locations on a global basis. For instance advertisers can now reach users in the City of London with messages tailored specifically to this geographic area.  Keep in mind, for the greatest reach of mobile users, it’s best to keep your targeting parameters as broad as possible.

We hope that these changes will make it easier than ever for you to conveniently reach your target audience on mobile.  Please send us feedback and questions at support@admob.com.

    Yours,
